You have to fullfill the requirements set in the Call for Applications. The requirements usually are:

  • a minimum number of credits according to the year you are enrolled in
  • being enrolled in a Bachelor's Degree, Master,'s Degree, PhD or to the single courses finalized to the enrollment to a Master's Degree
  • have the minimum language level proficiency required by the Call

If you apply with the English language for a University where English is not the local language, please check the educational offer in English of the Partner University carefully.

Language requirement

The language requirement is an admission requirement for selection and it must be obtained by the application deadline. The language levels required, depending on the language of application, are:

  • English: B2
  • French, German, Spanish, Portuguese: B1

Some Partner Universities may also require higher levels to be obtained by the deadline they set.

Language levels can be certified as follows:

  • international certificate according to the conversion table prepared by the Department of Economics and Management available at the links: EnglishFrenchGermanSpanish.
  • language courses offered at the Department of Economics and Management
  • language tests of the study plan
  • language of instruction of the course of study if the course is delivered in English (=level B2)
  • standard language tests carried out at the CLA
  • language tests of the special language test session as indicated on the page Language tests for international mobility

Language test at CLA

You can add a language exam in your study plan as extra exam (0 credits) and take the exam at the Language Center (CLA). You can add the language exam in your study plan during the period for modifying the study plan by sending an an email to supportostudentiecogiursi [at] unitn.it, provided that have already passed the previous language level (ex. by adding English level C1 you must prove that you have passed the English B2).

Details about enrollment to the exam and calendar are available on Registration to language tests.

Dual languages area

In case of dual language areas (e.g. English-German), it is not necessary to fulfill the language requirements for both languages: you can choose which area to apply in and fulfill the language requirement for that language. However, we recommend that you always check the teaching offer of the Partner University, especially if the language of application (e.g. English) does not coincide with the main language of instruction (e.g. German). However, you can apply with one language (e.g. English) only, but attending courses in both languages if you satisfy the requirement for both languages (e.g. English and German) of the Partner University.
