Duration and credits
You can start the internship according to what is established in the didactic regulations of the course (Economics and business legislation, Finance, Management, Management of sustainability and tourism). The internship must comply with the provisions of law and the training and orientation internship Regulations of the Department of Economics and Management, which you can find in the download section.
More information about start and end dates, suspensions, internship hours and absences can be found in art. 3 of the same Regulation.
Below are the characteristics in terms of credits, duration in weeks and hours of internships for the Department's master degree courses:

The types of internships are listed below.
Internship in a company / institution in Italy
Host Institution: find it through the Job Guidance Office, or on your own. In the second case, you should still inform the Job Guidance Office.
Start: follow the internship activation and carrying out procedures provided by the Job Guidance Office.
Duration: minimum number of weeks for each course, as shown in the table, and a maximum of 6 months, including the period dedicated to the drafting of the final report.
University tutor and business tutor: the university tutor is the didactic manager of the internship. You must identify a professor who can support you during the internship, acting as university tutor. The Department delegate (whose contacts are available at the bottom of this page) can provide guidance on finding a university tutor. The company tutor is identified by the internship host. Role and activities of the university tutor and company tutor are described in Article 7 of the Training and Orientation Internship Regulations.
Conclusion: for the recognition of the internship activity, follow the internship conclusion procedure provided by the Job Guidance Office (for the final report, see the specifications indicated in art. 8 of the Training and Orientation Internship Regulations).
Internship in a company / institution abroad
The internship abroad can be carried out in Europe or a non-European country in the following ways:
- for European countries, there are usually Erasmus+ for traineeship calls for traineeship abroad published on the Active Calls page and managed by the International Mobility Office.
- if the traineeship abroad is carried out in a non-European country or does not fall within limits set by the Erasmus+ traineeship abroad call or is carried out entirely remotely, it is mandatory to contact the JobGuidance office.
Activation times could take up to 60 days from acceptance.
For the duration of the internship, the appointment of the university tutor, and the procedures for registering for the internship, it is necessary to refer to the Department training and orientation internship Regulations in the Download box.
Carrying out an internship under the Erasmus+ Internship Program could lead to additional rules to be followed.
Start: follow the procedure for activating and carrying out the internship indicated on the International website in the section "International opportunities for undergraduate and graduate and doctoral degree students" under the heading Single call for internships abroad.
The internship must take place following with what is established in the Learning Agreement for Traineeship.
Duration: minimum* of 2 months (60 days) with a minimum number of 32 hours per week. Absences or mobility interruptions are not expected, except for reasons of force majeure.
University tutor: here you can find the instructions on how to identify the tutor for an internship in a European country or for an internship in a non-European country The company tutor is identified by the internship host.
Role and activities of the university tutor and of the company tutor are described in article 7 of the Training and Orientation Internship Regulations, which you can find in the download box.
Conclusion: follow the procedures communicated via email by the international mobility office.
*For the Management of sustainability and Tourism master course, the minimum duration of the internship is 3 months.
Internal internship - in University structures
The internal internship is a training activity inherent to one's own course of study to be carried out in the University laboratories, Departments or administrative services.
Start: prepare an internal internship project (form in the download box) and download the calendar for reporting the hours worked (form in the download box).
Two copies of the internal internship project must be signed (one copy of the original signed project must be left with the host structure and sent by email to placement.dem [at] unitn.it, the other copy remains with the trainee):

in the case of a research internship, only by the professor of reference at the laboratory / Department;
-
in the case of an internship in administrative offices, both by a teacher of the degree course (university tutor), and by the tutor of the host structure.
The university tutor/professor of reference sends the signed copy of the training project via email to the Department Delegate, thus communicating its start.
Duration: minimum number of weeks as shown in the table for each study programme - maximum of 6 months, including the period dedicated to the drafting of the final report.
Conclusion: at the end of the training activity, the student must present to the Department delegate for internships (see contacts) a report describing the activity carried out (see Article 8 of the Training and Orientation Internship Regulations) and a certificate (form in the download box) issued by the host/teacher of reference certifying the activity and the number of hours carried out, together with the calendar of hours undertaken.
Internship under the agreement with the Order of Chartered Accountants and Accounting Experts of Trento and Rovereto.
The internship, carried out in a professional firm affiliated with the Order of Chartered Accountants and Accounting Experts of Trento and Rovereto, is aimed at promoting a strong integration between university training and professional practice. It is also possible to carry out an internship at a professional firm located in Italy.
The training period in agreement with the Order of Chartered Accountants of Trento and Rovereto also foresees the exemption from the performance of the first written test needed to practice the profession of Chartered Accountant .
Requirements: the degree course in Business Economics and Law has been designed to meet the necessary requirements for access to the internship, in agreement with the Order of Chartered Accountants and Accounting Experts of Trento and Rovereto. Students attending the degree courses in Management and Management of sustainability and tourism can also access this type of internship, by satisfying the minimum requirements in terms of credits in specific scientific disciplinary sectors, as follows:

at least 18 CFU in SECS-P/07 Business Economics

at least 9 CFU in SECS-P/08 Economics and business management, SECS-P/09 Corporate finance, SECS-P/10 Business organization, SECS-P/11 Economics of financial intermediaries

at least 21 CFU in IUS/04 Commercial law, IUS/05 Economic law, IUS/12 Tax law, IUS/15 Civil procedural law, IUS/17 Criminal law
Start: consult the list of available professional studies published on Moodle → didactic activity "Internship in agreement with the Order", follow the internship activation and carrying out procedures provided by the Job Guidance Office and register in the Internship Register at the Order of Chartered Accountants and Accounting Experts of Trento and Rovereto.
Duration: 18 months, of which 6 curricular, including the period dedicated to the drafting of the final report.
University tutor: the didactic manager of the internship; you must identify a professor who can support you during the internship, acting as university tutor. The Department delegate (whose contacts are available at the bottom of this page) can provide instructions for finding a university tutor. Role and activities of the university tutor and company tutor are described in Article 7 of the Training and Orientation Internship Regulation (box download).
Conclusion: for the internship activity to be recognized, you must follow the internship conlusion procedure provided by the Job Guidance Office (for the final report, see the specifications indicated in Article 8 of the Internship Training and Orientation Regulations) and obtain approval from the Order of Chartered Accountants and Accounting Experts.
Assessment of the internship is based on information provided by both the professional and the intern written in the internship booklet issued by the Order.
Verification that the internship is actually being carried out is the responsibility of the Order, when the six-monthly check is noted on the internship booklet. The professional draws up a report and expresses his opinion on the activity carried out by the trainee student.
If the final exam focuses on the internship experience, the internship is assessed according to the methods specified in the course didactic regulations (Economics and business legislation, Finance, Management, Management of sustainability and tourism).
In order to qualify for the profession of Chartered Accountant it is mandatory to have completed an internship at the office of a Chartered Accountant, as required by current legislation.
Internship under the agreement with the Provincial Order of Labor Consultants
Start: in order to optimize the time needed to access the profession of Labor Consultant, students enrolled in master degree courses in Business Economics and Law, in Management, in Management of sustainability and tourism, in Innovation Management (MAIN), in International Management (MIM) and in Behavioural and Applied Economics (BEA) may apply to be admitted to the internship period (pursuant to art.9, paragraph 6, of Legislative Decree 24 January 2012, no. 1, converted into law no. 27 of 24 March 2012), by means of a request to be submitted to the Job Guidance Office of the University of Trento for subsequent forwarding to the Provincial Council of the Order of Labor Consultants signatories of the agreement, by December 15th or June 15th each year.
The trainee/student, on acceptance, must request immediate registration on the register of practitioners held by the Provincial Council of the Order, in compliance with the provisions of the current Regulation on compulsory internship for access to the profession of Consultant of Labor.
Duration: students admitted to the internship period in agreement with the Provincial Order of Labor Consultants will carry out a period of practice lasting six (6) months in a professional office of a labor consultant, identified by the Provincial Council of the Order, duly registered in the Register and in compliance with mandatory ongoing training. Any period spent abroad attending courses recognized by the University of Trento will result in the suspension of the internship for the corresponding period.
Conclusion: the planning, assessment and verification that the internship has actually been undertaken remains responsibility of the Provincial Council of the Order of Labor Consultants in which the host, the professional, is registered.
Activities recognizable by the Department Delegate
In place of the internship, other professional experiences may be recognized by the Department Delegate, for example:

activities carried out in the context of youth entrepreneurship projects proposed by the university tutor;
-
internships carried out abroad as part of EU programs;
May be considered equivalent to internships by the Department Delegate, provided that they are consistent with the course of study and in compliance with any condition set by the Delegate, limited to the study programmes for which the didactic regulation requires the undertaking of a compulsory internship:
- experiences undertaken by working students (for the purpose of recognition, the student must send the Department Delegate a written report describing the tasks performed, countersigned by the employer for confirmation);
- voluntary civil service activities undertaken at accredited National Civil Service entities (for recognition purposes, the student must send the Department Delegate a written report describing the activities carried out, countersigned by the accredited host body for confirmation).
