Senior Assistant Professor (tenure-track) in Econometrics

The Department of Economics and Management of the University of Trento seeks to appoint an Assistant Professor with tenure-track in Econometrics (Ricercatore a Tempo Determinato, tipo B) (settore 13/A5 - SECS-P/05 Econometria, in the Italian system).

The candidate should hold a PhD in Econometrics or Economics or an equivalent qualification, an excellent publication record, as well as evidence of high quality teaching and mentoring. While all fields of Econometrics will be considered, preference will be given to candidates specialized in microeconometrics, panel data, causal inference, machine learning, and analysis of large and unstructured data.

The position implies both research and teaching. Teaching activities will be in both Italian and English. The teaching load is of 90 hours (two courses at undergraduate/master level) per year.

The position holder will access to a start-up research fund of about 12.000 euro granted by the University. Annual gross salary is € 46,450.

Research

The University of Trento has been ranked in top positions by national rankings, and it is well positioned in international ones. The Department of Economics and Management features a multidisciplinary research covering most research areas in the economic and management domains. Department Teaching

The Department offers three undergraduate degrees (in Italian) plus one in English, seven master degrees (three in Italian and four in English),  it contributes to two PhD programs, and it is consistently ranked among the top Economics and Management departments in Italy.

Terms and Conditions

The tenure-track position is a fixed-term three year contract that leads Associate professorship upon obtainment of the national scientific qualification (Abilitazione Scientifica Nazionale) and positive evaluation by the University.

To be eligible for “direct appointment from abroad” (chiamata dall’estero), applicants must have been employed as faculty members or research staff at a foreign university (or research institute) for at least three consecutive years, and must hold an equivalent academic position at their current foreign university. Any application not satisfying this requirement cannot be  considered.
