Monday, 19 May - 3 PM - Seminar room (first floor - DEM)
During the seminar We will discuss the current energy and climate policies in the United States. During the Biden administration, Congress enacted three major laws to restructure the US economy from its dependency on fossil fuel extraction and consumptions towards green energy and a greener economy.
That major infusion of funding aimed to create jobs, improve economic competitiveness, while assisting fossil fuel communities’ just transition, mitigating environmental injustices and addressing the climate crisis.
We delve into three questions: How has the Trump administration rolled back the green energy transition and weakened climate action? How have selected state governments in the United States and civil society responded to these actions? What are the implications for Europe and the globe?
