Caterina Stocchi

I have a background in international development, urban studies and economic geography, with an international educational experience gained in the Netherlands and the UK. I am interested in the socio-spatial dynamics of territories, with a particular focus on climate adaptation, governance and the transformative change of mountain and rural areas. In my past research projects, I have employed a variety of qualitative and quantitative methods.

I am a PhD student with a background in management, business consultancy, and digital transformation. My main research interests lie at the intersection of data science, healthcare management, and artificial intelligence for decision support. My current research focuses on the development of semantic and explainable AI systems aimed at improving governance and clinical prioritization processes within the Italian National Health Service. Through this work, I aim to create digital tools that integrate clinical reasoning with managerial and policy dimensions, supporting equitable, efficient, and sustainable healthcare management.
