This PhD programme is jointly established and provided by the Economics and Management Faculties of the University of Trento and the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano.
Course description
The 3-year full-time PhD programme in Management aims to equip talented young people with the mindset and principles of responsible management and sustainable leadership, preparing them to contribute to a better future world and economy by balancing social, ecological, and economic aspects appropriately.
It centers at the development of theoretical and applied research in business and management sciences through the acquisition of dedicated competencies, especially with regard to the following research fields:
- Accounting and Accountability;
- Organizational Behavior and Decision Making;
- Consumer Behavior;
- Entrepreneurship and Innovation;
- Family Business;
- International Management;
- Knowledge Management;
- Organizational Design and Human Resource Management;
- Strategy and Strategic Leadership and
- Tourism Management.
It consists of core training courses (e.g., theories, quantitative and qualitative methods, publication process) as well as individualized education related to the specific research interests and objectives of the PhD candidate as recommended by the supervisor. Students will be supported in their development as junior researchers among others by topic specific individual tutoring and mentoring, a variety of network opportunities as well as support for a mandatory research stay abroad of up to six months.
Ph.D. students will have access to a broad spectrum of professors, seminars, and workshops that will equip them with the skills and knowledge necessary to excel in their field of study. PhD students will have the opportunity to be involved in research projects in these and other areas.
