- October: Students’ arrival and assignment of tutors
- October - January: First term courses
- February - June: Second-term courses
- June: Assignment of the supervisor and of the members of Thesis Advisory Group – TAG
- July – September: Preparation of the research proposal
- October: Presentation of the thesis proposal to the Doctoral Programme Committee
- End of October: Evaluation of the admission to the 2nd year.
Second Year - Research activity and at least 3 months in foreign research institutions
- March: Presentation and discussion of the draft of the first research paper
- October: Presentation and discussion of:
- results of the first research paper
- draft of the second research paper
- End of October: Evaluation of the Admission to the 3rd year
Third Year - Research activity and research papers’ finalization
- March: Presentation and discussion of:
- the second research paper
- the draft of the third research paper

End of September: Request for admission to the PhD thesis review procedure/final examination or for extension
- October: Presentation and discussion of the third paper (with a short recap of the results of the first two papers - no more than 2-3 slides) and a short report on the activities carried out abroad
- End of October: The Doctoral Programme Committee evaluates the thesis and admits the PhD candidate to the final examination/evaluation procedure or authorizes the extension. Thesis submission and start of the review procedure.
For the academic year 2025-26, the most important dates are the following:
- Spring presentation session: Thursday, 19 and Friday, 20 March 2026
- Autumn presentation session: Thursday, 15 and Friday, 16 October 2026
- Board meeting for the admission to the following year: Wednesday, 21 October 2026
